Tourism News of the Year
Tourism is much talked about but little documented. This award exists to make visible the work that addresses the sector's economy, labor, heritage, and problems with true journalism.
Categories
The artwork was selected from among the winners in four categories. “"Tourism News of the Year"” It's happening.
Print and Digital News-Research
Newspaper, magazine, agency, and online news products: news, investigative reporting, feature articles, and data journalism.
Interview and Conversation
Studies that focus on the people involved in tourism, including business owners, employees, passengers, or decision-makers.
Television, Video and Podcast
Television news, news documentaries, digital video and audio broadcasts. Maximum duration of 20 minutes.
Other
High-quality journalistic work on tourism that doesn't quite fit into the three categories above.
Who can apply?
Must be 18 years of age or older and of the following age: at least one of them Anyone who can document it:
- Having a valid yellow press card
- To document that you have worked as a journalist at a media organization for the past two years.
- To be a member of a journalists' association or professional organization
What will you send?
- A category, a work. You cannot apply to more than one category.
- Your work January 1, 2025 – September 30, 2026 It must have been published among them.
- Link to the broadcast and PDF clipping/screenshot.
- Describing the work's contribution to tourism journalism. maximum 300 words Justification text.
- Works published as a series, provided they have a maximum of 5 episodes, are considered a single work.
- In collaborative works, the application is submitted on behalf of all signatories.
Rules
Unaccepted
- AI-generated texts are not accepted. Auxiliary uses such as research, transcription, or translation are not included; if used, please state your justification in your text.
Free
- It doesn't matter if your work has been entered into or won another journalism award – you just need to declare it.
- The work is yours. We do not republish award-winning works in their entirety; they are included in the exhibition and e-catalog with their details, a short summary, and a link to the publication.

The Selection Committee consists of representatives from professional organizations in the fields of tourism and media, as well as from academia.
